The Reader

While driving to Hanover, I bought the audio version of the reader. I must say, I was somewhat disappointed by the book. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but I think the way it was read kind of made it hard to follow. For instance, he would be talking about events happening in the 1940's, then would start talking about current events, only then to switch back to the 1940's. That was the only fault I found with the book.
It is such a sad story, the reasoning behind Anna's thought process and why she pleads guilty to crimes she didn't commit, just to hide a secret. I won't tell you what the secret is unless you want me to.
I haven't seen the movie. I usually don't see the movie if I have read the book. I find myself disappointed because the movie isn't how I interpreted the book to be.
Anyway, good book. Recommend.
