I Know This Much is True

I also finished I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb. Wow, what a great book. It is a story about a set of identical twin brothers, and one is schizophrenic. The book is told from the point of view of Dominic, the twin without mental disabilities. He tells of their childhood with a passive mom and an abusive stepdad. He describes the struggles of Thomas, his twin and tries to figure out why he suffers from shcizphrenia and he doesn't. He is forced to look at his life and make peace with his past and embrace his future. In the process, Dominic finds out more about his life than he bargained for.

Certain Girls

While in Missouri, I was able to catch up on some reading. The first book I finished was Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner. It is a continuing story from her first book, but now Candice's daughter is 13. She is trying to discover who she is and in the process, finds out more about her mom and dad. But instead of seeking the truth, her 13-year old imagination runs wild. Of course, there are twists and turns that throw you for a loop, but it is a great book. I even shed a few tears at the end.

Missouri

I am going to be leaving for Missouri in the morning. My Dad had back surgery today and I am going to help my mom for about a week. It is an eight hour drive to their house, which I am not looking forward to, but what can ya do.
His surgery went well. They moved the nerves in his back so he isn't in as much pain. Thankfully, he is staying the night. Now the goal is to keep Dad out of the fields and the barn.
